What is Golden Visa?

This is the programme that allows non-European citizens to obtain Spanish residency through real estate investment. Golden Visa allows you to obtain 1 year residency in Spain enabling future renewals without the need to stay in the country*.

How valid is it?

Investors in real estate assets with earnest money contract: 6 months visa/authorisation. Investor visa: 1 year (Renewable for as long as the investment remains).

Who can accompany the investor?

The visa and authorisation are valid for work and residence throughout the national territory, including spouses or unmarried partners, minor or adult children who are economically dependent on the holder and dependent ascendants.

What is a Golden Visa?

The Golden Visa permit allows you to reside in Spain for one year and can be renewed as long as the real estate investment is still active.

Who can apply for a Golden Visa permit?

These are the profiles eligible to apply for the Golden Visa permit in Spain:

  • Investors making an investment in Spanish territory (of at least €500,000).
  • Individuals holding shares or bank deposits with a value of €1,000,000.
  • Entrepreneurs with projects of general interest in Spain.
    • A project of general interest is one that:
    • Can promote the creation of jobs in the country.
    • Makes an investment with a socio-economic impact on the area where it is established.
    • One that involves innovation in R&D&I.

How to apply for a Golden Visa?

This permit will be processed at the Spanish consulate of the applicant’s country of residence or country of origin.

The documents required for the processing of the Spanish residence permit are the following:

  • Identity card / passport
  • Criminal record certificate
  • Proof of financial means,
  • Public/private health insurance arranged by a Spanish entity.

How can I renew my Golden Visa permit?

There are certain requirements:

  • Maintain the investment that proves the investor profile.
  • Visit the country at least once a year since obtaining the investor visa.
